Protaras is the main beach resort of the Famagusta district and is well known for its magnificent golden sandy beaches, Fig tree bay being one of the best in Cyprus. Water sports are in abundance, Jet-skis, wind surfing and snorkelling as well as several good diving schools. Boat trips, either for fishing, or a cruise around the coast to view the ghost town of old Famagusta, and the breathtaking scenery of Cape Greco are a must do.
